biography
Born in 1985 in Arkhangelsk, Lora Zyuzina is a visual artist specializing in ceramics. For many years, she lived and worked in Moscow as a stylist and fashion designer.
In 2012, she earned her Master’s degree in Art and Design from the A.N. Kosygin Moscow State Technical University. Until 2022, she also studied ceramics at the Moscow School of Ceramics and at the Stroganov Academy of Design and Applied Arts.
Her works reinvent ceramics through the prism of texture and form, drawing from a wide range of materials (clay, porcelain, slip) and colors. They evoke real space and the passage of time, urban memories and train stations, old walls and street art. Through her practice, Lora seeks to explore the construction of identity within contexts where freedom is constrained.
She takes part in biennials and international exhibitions, including the 2024 CICA in Alcora and the Ceramic Biennale at the Manises Museum. She has held solo exhibitions at L Galerie and the Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art (NPAK), and participated in group shows such as the 2023 Cosmoscow exhibition in Moscow and at the Winzavod Center. She is currently a member of the Agency of Artists in Exile.
