biography

Born in 1979 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, Sara Farid is an artist-photographer and journalist. She contributes to national and international publications (Le Monde, New York Times, AFP, Reuters, and The Guardian) and exhibits in Pakistan and beyond. Her work focuses on women, displaced and marginalized communities.

Forced to flee her country, she found asylum in France in 2018 and has presented her work at the Cité internationale des arts – Site de Montmartre (Visions d’exil festival 2018), La Villa Rose (Wize women), Pavillon Carré de Baudouin (Visions d’exil festival 2020), produced a report for Fondation Camargo and Halte Humanitaire, and spoken at Théâtre du Châtelet during an event on censorship. She is a member of the Maison des Journalistes in Paris and the Agency of Artists in Exile.
