biography

Born in 1979 in Ralwalpindi, Pakistan, Sara Farid is an artist-photographer and journalist. She works for national and international publications (Le Monde, New York Times, AFP, Reuters and The Guardian) and exhibits in Pakistan and abroad. Her work focuses on women and displaced and marginalized communities. Forced to flee her country, she found asylum in France in 2018 and presented her work at the Cité internationale des arts – Site de Montmartre (festival Visions d’exil 2018), at La Villa Rose (Wize women), at the Pavillon Carré de Baudouin (festival Visions d’exil 2020), produced a report for Fondation Camargo and the Halte Humanitaire, and spoke at the Théâtre du Châtelet during an evening on censorship. She is a member of the Maison des journalistes in Paris and the Atelier des artistes en exil.
