biography

Born in 1992 in Moscow, Russia, Vasili Berezin is a director, actor and musician. Trained at GITIS, he founded his company, Binary Biotheatre, in 2015. He has staged more than 400 shows in unusual and non-theatrical venues, inspired by performative practices, literature and history and with a desire for access to art for all audiences. Because of the political orientation of his work and his opposition to the war in Ukraine, he left Russia for France in 2022. He set up the arts association Microcrédit and performed at the Abraxas spaces in Noisy-le-Grand, notably with a street opera based on Don Juan. He is a member of the agency of artists in exile.
