biography

Born in 1988 in Damascus, Syria, Khaled Alwarea is an architect and multidisciplinary artist (installation, photography, sculpture, video, scenography and interior design). He founded the design studio UV LAB and realized projects for the Middle East and Europe. He transits through Lebanon, where he focuses on refugees. In France since 2016, he designed the scenography of the festival Visions d’exil (2018) at the Cité internationale des arts – Site de Montmartre and presented a multimedia installation (2019). He signed the scenography of Disparu-es and Les murs parlent by Judith Depaule, Habitus by Nidal Abdo, Rupture by Maryam Samaan and On marche sur des œufs by Ayoub Moumen. Winner of the Mondes nouveaux competition, he designed the Kraken at Les Subsistances in Lyon. He is a member of the agency of artists in exile.
