Year-end fundraising campaign
The rise of authoritarian regimes and conflicts around the world is leading to a regression of fundamental freedoms and an intensification of human rights violations, particularly in the areas of freedom of expression and artistic creation. Artists persecuted in their home countries are often forced into exile, where they find themselves isolated, living in precarious conditions, and facing instability—threatening their artistic vocation and the transmission of their knowledge.
To protect their freedom of expression and allow them to continue their work in France, the agency of artists in exile (aa-e) will open a new welcome center in Paris’s 15th arrondissement in January 2025. This larger, more suitable space will offer artists improved production conditions, personalized social and legal support, as well as French language courses in a welcoming environment.
