Born in 1986 in Malatya, Turkey, Şener Yılmaz Aslan is a photographer and photojournalist. He graduated in industrial design and photography from Marmara University. He is interested in social class contradictions, urban paradoxes and mechanisms of discrimination. His photographs are published in newspapers such as Paris Match, Vice, The Guardian, BBC, The Telegraph and SoccerBible. They have been exhibited in the streets of Amsterdam as part of the Pride Photo Award and at Akbank Art Gallery, Zilberman and Yapıkredi Art Gallery. He participated in photo competitions such as Young Fresh Different, Akbank Contemporary Artists, Mamut Art Project and Rotary Art, at Musée Granet in Aix-en-Provence, at Coco Velten, Cômerie and la Ruche K in Marseille. He is a member of the agency of artists in exile. He worked alongside Judith Depaule on the installation “Mnémonique” at the Avignon Festival in 2022. He participates in Art-o-rama contemporary art fair in Marseille in 2024.
