Vertash Anfisa

Born in Moscow in 2004, Anfisa Vertash is a visual artist. In 2022, she left Russia to escape the war. Her practice focuses on drawing, creating zines and comics exploring personal stories related to internet culture and politics. The period of eternal adolescence remains of great importance to the artist, with its ill-fated loves and the impending sense of the end of the world. With a series of drawings, a self-portrait and a calendar for 2023, Anfisa Vertash tells how emigration drives people inward and can drive them mad.
