Born in 1973 in Kurunagala, Sri Lanka, Madika Thushari Babilegedara is a musician and singer. She started music with flute and violin when she was a child at school. She got her theater diploma at the Tower Hall Theater Foundation and national youth center in Colombo, and she got her fine arts diploma at the university of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka. Afterwards, she became the costume assistant on the set of Sakdewdoni. She played for various TV shows in Sri Lanka such as Platun, Ghathanayenpasu or Bopathsakkiya. She played keyboard and traditional instruments like esraj, harmonium or sri lankan drums such as geta bera. Then, she started teaching classical Indian music, Sri Lankan folk music, and singing lessons for 12 years in three different schools in Sri Lanka: Yatiyana Maha Viddiyalaya, Walagamba Maha Viddyalaya and Rathanasara Maha Viddalaye. She participated to the competition of the best music school in Sri Lanka and won first prize multiple times. She arrived in France in 2022 and gave music lessons as a volunteer at the Sri Lankan temple at La Courneuve in Paris. She is a member of the agency of artists in exile.
