biography
Myat Thu Soe is a singer born in 1987 in Kanbalu, Myanmar. He has won 11 gold medals in singing competitions held in Myanmar. He studied singing at the National University of Arts and Culture, specializing in music, and graduated with a B.A, (Music) and a P.G.D.A, (Music). He then served as a vocal instructor in the Music Department at the National University of Arts and Culture (Yangon). In 2017, he released a solo album titled “Panchikarlay.” He also sang on the *Thingyan Symphony* album, *Nway Kagyo Kabyar* album, *La Pyae Nya Away* album, *Sayar Goneyi* album, and *Gita Yadana 1000 Myanmar Traditional Songs* album. In 2015, he performed at the ASEAN Music Festival in Vietnam, and in 2017, he performed a pop song at the ASEAN Youth Contemporary Music Concert in Laos. He has also worked as a vocal coach for the NUAC Orchestra.
After the military coup on February 1, 2021, he led the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) in his department and participated in protests, using music as a form of resistance. In 2023, he took part in the *Doh Ayay!* exhibition at POUSH in Aubervilliers, France. He arrived in France in 2022 and became a member of the Agency of Artists in Exile.
