Born in Moscow, Russia, in 1991, Peter Theremin is a thereminist and composer. The great-grandson of Lev Termen, the inventor of the theremin, he founded the Thereminology festival and a website dedicated to the instrument, and runs the Russian Theremin School in Moscow. He is the author of a series of lectures on electronic music and the “Theremin in 24 hours” course programme. He composes for theatre and film, performs in concert, plays with symphony orchestras and has contributed to several albums. A laureate of the Collège de France’s Pause programme, he will be in residence at the Muse en circuit – centre national de création numérique in autumn 2022. He has been a member of the Agence of Artists in exile since 2022.
