Born in 1993 in Kabul, Afghanistan, Mujtaba Qasemi is a dancer and choreographer. He started doing gymnastics very young and turned to dance when he moved to Mumbai at the age of 18. He practiced street dance, hip-hop and traditional Afghan dances that he transformed by adding variations. When he returned in Afghanistan, he created two groups: Afghan force, composed of gymnasts and himself, the only dancer, then Top Step Crew, the first breakdance mixed group. In 2020, he created the first urban dance studio for women in Kabul, Afghanistan. He arrived in France in 2022 and became a member of the agency of artists in exile. In March 2022, he did his first performance since his arrival, for the Persian New Year celebration in Alfortville.
