Born in 1981 in Kiev, Ukraine, Ielizaveta Portnova is a ceramist. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and the International Academy of Ceramics, she graduated in ceramics at the University of KITU in Ukraine. From 2003 to 2022, she lived and worked in Kiev in her studio. In 2022, she participated in the Ceramic Market in Bussière-Badil in Dordogne, France. In 2022, she received the Honorary Award at the International Ceramic Exhibition MediTERRAneo in Italy, and in 2019 the Grand Prize at the International Biennial of Ceramic Art in Opishny. She participated in the International Ceramic Art Award (ICAA) in China in 2019, the Fuping Pottery residency in 2016 for the creation of the Ukrainian modern ceramics pavilion. His works can be found in China, South Korea, Italy, Spain and Ukraine. Invoking all kinds of techniques for making and firing her sculptures, she rethinks her early works and those of others, integrating them into a new work.
