biography

Born in 1986 in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, Pasmur Rachuiko is a painter and performer. He studied at the State University of Culture and Arts in Saint Petersburg. Since 2012, he has incorporated a subjective collection of symbolic characters and pop culture memes into his painting. The self-portrait plays a key role in the context of questions related to gender, social, and national identity. Beyond painting, the artist creates performances using locally sourced food as material. His work has been featured in several solo exhibitions, notably at the Gogol Center in Moscow (2019) and at the Untitled Gallery in Tbilisi, Georgia (2021). He was also exhibited at the International Biennale of Young Artists in Moscow in 2021. His works are part of private and museum collections in Coldrerio, Geneva, Milan, Kiev, Paris, Tallinn, San Francisco, New York, Philadelphia, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Berlin, and London. He lived in Tbilisi, Georgia, before moving to Avignon, France. He has been a member of the Atelier des Artistes en Exil since September 2024.
