biography

Born in 1989 in Odessa, Ukraine, into a family of musicians, Odetta Imperialie is an opera singer and vocal teacher. From a young age, she performed roles at the Odessa Opera House (such as The Little Sweep by Britten, Tosca by Puccini, and Carmen by Bizet). She was also a soloist with the Perles d’Odessa children’s choir, where she toured several countries. In 2016, she graduated with a degree in lyrical singing from the National Academy of Music in Odessa. She continued her career as a soloist at the Odessa Philharmonic and the Salik Municipal Brass Music Theatre of Odessa. A vocal teacher at the Music Hub in Ukraine, her commitment to youth is evident in her appointment in 2018 as the jury president for the international Zvezdochka children’s competition. She has also led artistic activities with the Black Sea Orchestra (North Macedonia) since 2019. Since that same year, she has represented her city internationally as part of the Odessa delegation. She has won several awards (Vissi’e D’arte, 2018; Mer Noire, 2018; Ohrid, 2021; Odessa Heritage Prize, 2021) and performs internationally as a guest artist (at the F.I. Chaliapine in Moscow; performing Musetta in La Bohème by Puccini at CICADA Berlin). She has been a Atelier des Artistes en Exil member in Marseille since December 2022.
