Born in 1973 in Brazzaville, Congo, Dominique Nkodia is a dancer, singer and percussionist. Born into a family of artists and with a musician father, she began dancing, singing and playing percussion at an early age. In 2005, she performed for the first time at FESPAM, and went on to join several groups and take part in other festivals in Brazzaville. In 2008, she joined choreographer Florent Maou’s contemporary dance company Studio Maho, with whom she toured Africa. In 2011, following a contract with Villages d’Afrique – Rythmes Africains in Russia, she moved to Anapa. Arriving in France in 2017, she is a member of the Agency of Artists in exile, joins the group Les mamans du Congo for their tour of France (2021), takes part in the show KONGO by the association Ngoma za kü Angers, and leads workshops in traditional African dance and song (festival 4, 3, 2, 1…, 2021).
