biography

Born in 1995 in Yangon, Myanmar, Richie Nath is a queer artist, illustrator and painter. He grew up in Myanmar but studied in England. He graduated in fashion illustration from the London College of Fashion. His work focus on the human figure, he tackles themes of identity and politics, drawing on his own experience of growing up in a conservative society. Arriving in France in 2021, he is currently in residence at the Centre Les Récollets in Paris. He has exhibited in Myanmar, Singapore, France (Place du Palais Royal – Biennale Photoclimat, Magasins généraux – festival Visions d’exil, galerie BAQ ), the United States (Galerie Aicon contemporary, Art Basel Miami Beach, Spinello Projects in Miami), Belgium (Mère d’Exil, La Cité Miroir, Liège), Australia (Fighting Fear I&II, 16 Albermarle, Sydney), Singapore , Berlin and London (Karin Weber Gallery). He is a member of the agency of artists in exile.
