Born in 1978 in Casamance, Senegal, Abdou Kouyaté is a singer-songwriter and kora player. He comes from a family of griots, and from a very young age, he learned to play the kora from one of his uncles. In Senegal, he plays with Omar Pene, Coumba Gawlo, Dial Mbaye, Baba Maal. He has been featured on several albums and singles for different musicians. Abdou arrived in France in 2013 and gives kora lessons, performs solo in concert, or as part of a duo alongside Omar Diallo, Diallo, Lamine Diallo, Amadou Kone or Mamadou Souane.
