biography
Born in 1991 in Zemetchino, Penza in Russia, Daria Trubarova is a multimedia artist. She works with 3D modeling, augmented reality, and multimedia installations, and she also engages in traditional painting and textile techniques. Her work highlights the culture of the Mordvin people, one of Russia’s indigenous groups, while exploring themes of memory, identity, consumption, and ecological resource reproduction. Trubarova graduated with a degree in social sciences from Dubna International University in 2012 and completed her studies at the Rodchenko School of Modern Art in 2022. She was an artist-in-residence at Vyksa AIR and participated in numerous group exhibitions including If Museum Walls Could Talk, Stanford University in 2023, Feral Automated System, Ars Electronica in Linz, Austria, Vanadium Bloom, CUBE.Moscow, in Moscow, Russia, in 2022. In 2023, she presented her project at Ars Electronica in Austria, addressing ecological systems and future scenarios in the Anthropocene era. Her performance on homelessness was featured in the II Contemporary Art event at the Garage Museum in Moscow. In 2024, she created video art for a performance at Stanford University, which received critical review from Russian art institutions. Due to political reasons, Daria Trubarova relocated to France and became a member of the atelier of artists in exile in 2023.
