biography

Born in 1987 in Russia, Daria Panteleeva is a multimedia artist. She has directed over 25 productions in various theaters, including the Mariinsky Primorsky Theatre, the Mikhailovsky Theatre, and the Azerbaijan State Musical Theatre. As a playwright, she has written numerous film adaptations, plays, and original librettos. Her poems have been published in poetry anthologies. She has also created sound walks in the Hermitage Garden in Moscow and site-specific 3D audio performances in the Norwegian Arctic in collaboration with the Havnemuseum. Daria Panteleeva works in video art, photography, performance, and creates audiovisual installations. In 2023, Daria created several audiovisual installations and experimental films in Germany and Norway. These include the installation Outsider_in (Berlin, 2023), the visual poem Ikke smelter (Berlevåg, 2023), and the experimental documentary film Born to be… (Cologne, 2023). In 2024, she created the exhibition Visibility: LGBTQIA+ Love and Pride, for which she was both curator and participating artist (Reforum Space, Paris). She also presented the exhibition Presence as part of an open studio at the Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris). In October 2024, she showcased a documentary text-based performance titled Exclusion Zone at POUSH for the opening of the Censorship exhibition. She is currently an artist-in-residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (2024). She is a member of the Atelier des Artistes en Exil.
