biography
Mahdi Baraghithi was born in 1991 in Ramallah, Palestine. He is a visual artist who works in various media forms, including performance, installation, and collage. Baraghithi explores and deconstructs representations of masculinity and the male body in Arab societies, particularly in the Palestinian context. In 2018, he received an MFA from ENSA Bourges, France, and in 2015 a BA in Contemporary Visual Arts from the Palestine International Academy of Art. He has participated in numerous workshops and residencies, including the year-long Home Workspace program at Ashkal Alwan – The Lebanese Association for Plastic Arts (2015-16) and Aarau en Switzerland (2024). He also holds a diploma from the Palestine Film Institute in Ramallah (2010). He has exhibited his work in several solo and group exhibitions, including Cities Future (2013) in Naples, Italy; Cities Exhibition 6 / Lydda – A Garden Disremembered (2018), Birzeit University Museum, Palestine. He is a guest artist at the Box (ENSA, Bourges) and will be a member of the Cité internationales des arts in january 2025. He is a member of the Agency of artists in exile.
