biography
Born in 1977 in Leningrad, USSR, Anna Abrashina is a painter and human rights activist. She graduated in 2002 from the Stieglitz National School of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg, as well as from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2003. In 2002, she was the winner of the international LVMH La Figure competition dedicated to Jean Dubuffet. Illustrator and graphic designer, Anna Abrashina also works in oil painting and engraving. Her works have been exhibited in numerous venues in France (Fondation Dubuffet, Galerie du Pont Neuf, the Forum de Blanc Mesnil) and in Saint Petersburg (Hermitage Restoration Center, Stieglitz School of Fine Arts Museum, State Museum of History, Manège). She also runs art workshops for audiences affected by mental disorders. She arrived in France in 2022 and joined the Agency of Artists in Exile.
