biography
Born in 1989 in Gomel, Belarus, Anastasiya is an actress, director, and producer. A graduate of the Moscow School of New Cinema, she has performed in several theater productions in Russia and the United Kingdom, including What Can We Do with Burnout? (Theatre DOC, Moscow), A Hero of Our Time (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), and The Victim (Playground Theatre, London). Alongside her acting career, she directs animated short films (Dedicated to Venechka, Melted Heart) and acts in feature films (72 HOURS, a documentary on the death penalty in Belarus; War.2022). Following her exile, she created The Room of Our Childhood, a performance combining video installation and live performance based on family archives. This piece was presented at the Thessaloniki Fringe Festival in Greece in 2023 and will be shown at the OFF Festival in Avignon in July 2024, following a grant from the Institut Français. She has been a member of the Artists in Exile workshop since 2024.
