biography

Born in 1996 in Jaghuri, Ghazni province in Afghanistan, Khaliq Alizada is a cartoonist. He left his country for Iran after high school, then returned to Afghanistan in 2002 and settled in Kabul where he began his career as a press cartoonist. In 2005, he founded the monthly newspaper Shakhgooi. From 2006 to 2021, he worked for the main Afghan press group as a cartoonist and author. He published more than four thousand press cartoons commenting on Afghan political, social and cultural news, and in 2016 founded Caricature Magazine, the only monthly cartoon magazine in the country. He is the author of numerous posters. He arrived in France in December 2021 and is a member of l’Atelier des artistes en exil and Cartooning for Peace.
