Born in 1974 in Damascus, Syria, Zina Al Halak is an actress. She was trained at the Dramatic Art Institute of Damascus in 1997, and performed in cinema, TV shows and theatre. As an active militant against her country’s regime, after the revolution she had to flee to Tunisia where she taught theatre. She directed her first theatre play, Dispute Conjugale, in 2014, presented at El Teatro in Tunis. She arrived in France in November 2017. She performed in La fenêtre by Abdulmajeed Haydar (festival 18/18, Pièces à emporter), and in Disparu.e.s by Judith Depaule (festival Visions of Exile 2019). She is the co-writer and actress of a series of pedagogic movies for Positive Planet International. She is a member of the agency of artists in exile.
