Born in 1984 in Yangiyol in Uzbekistan, Azamat Abdurakhmanov is a singer of Uyghur culture. After living in exile in Kazakhstan, he recorded an album, Sois mon étoile, with his wife Nassima Shavaeva, and performed in Uighur musical ensembles in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, China and Spain, before moving to France, where he took refuge in 2016. Committed to the reconstitution of a traditional and contemporary national repertory, he has performed at the Inalco, the Cité internationale des arts and the Trois Maillets. He is now a member of the Agency of Artists in exile.
