biography

Born in Moscow, Russia, in 1993, Anna Soz is an artist, curator, and educator with a background in media research, journalism, and IT. She is a graduate of the BAZA Institute of Contemporary Art and co-founder of the NII Prichastnost and Talking Cure collectives.

Her work centers on xenopoetics, hybrid forms of (co-)existence, and the ways contemporary techno-social conditions shape modes of thought and representation. Current practice engages with the convergence of ecological, political, and social crises, understood as structurally co-produced through technocapitalism and epistemic enclosure. Through artistic and curatorial practice, pedagogical interventions, and experimental methodologies, the research pursues emancipatory thinking, experimental reasoning, and speculative world-engineering. It seeks to trace trajectories and collective models of composition that rearticulate the conditions of intelligibility across shifting epistemes.

Her solo and duo exhibitions include Games (2025) at Motoco, Mulhouse; Aspirin on Milk (2025), a duo exhibition with Zoé Brunet-Jailly at Poush, Aubervilliers; Witness (2023) and I Pray the Trees Will Get Their Leaves Soon (2023) at HEAR (Haute École des Arts du Rhin), presented as part of her residency with the PAUSE programme of the Collège de France (2023–2025); Practical Independence (2023), a research project of the cyber-femin-club archive at Skylight Gallery, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Moscow; and The Garden of Hybrid Organisms (2021) at NII Prichastnost, Moscow.

Her curatorial projects include Haunted (2025), a group exhibition presented within the La Connexion program of the Haute École des Arts du Rhin and La Kunsthalle Mulhouse, La Galerie, Mulhouse; Open Portals: Reinventing the Possible (2024), part of a workshop at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin, Mulhouse; In Public Space No. 7PLUS+(2023), an off-site solo project by Alireza Mohammadi, Istanbul; and Vol. 1: Now or Ever (2022), a group exhibition at Talking Cure Space, Moscow. Anna moved to France in 2023, where she became a member of the Agency of Artists in Exile.
