Nasir Hashimi Mohammad

Born in 1990 in Baghlan, Afghanistan, Mohammad Nasir Hashimi is an animator and filmmaker. He studied directing at Kabul University and film production at the Beijing Film Academy. He headed the artistic department of Afghan Film, Afghanistan’s only state film production company. Founder of Kapila Motion Pictures, he has directed several animated and fiction films: Open Your Eyes (short fiction, 2009); Death to Freedom (2010); Circle (2013); The Lost Bag (2015); Elephantbird (2018); Turning Point (2018); Yussuf and Zulaikha (2020); A Small Democracy (2020); Baba Yakhsoz (2022); The Legend of the Dragon (2024). He is one of the organizers of the Afghanimation film festival. He has been a member of the Agency of Artists in Exile since 2021.
