biography
Born in 1995 in Firoz Koh, Afghanistan, Roya Heydari is a photographer and filmmaker. She collaborated with international publication (Buisness Insider, Al Jazeera, The Middle East Eye, TRT World), worked with international NGOs (UNHCR, GIZ, WHO, MSI, Save The Children) and appeared in various documentary and feature films.
Aiming to shed more light on Afghan women who live in rural areas, she traveled all over Afghanistan to take photographs and videos, making their stories heard by risking her own life. She arrived in France in 2021 and has been a member of the Agency of Artists in Exile.
