biography

Born in Douala, Cameroon, Blanche Deutche graduated with a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of Yaoundé 2. Self-taught in visual arts, he developed part of his career as a graphic designer; in parallel, he first specialized in comics before gradually orienting his practice toward painting.

He collaborates with numerous artists from Douala and presents his works in solo and group exhibitions in Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and at the 5th International Salon of Fine Arts in Prague.

Having settled in France since 2023, he currently lives and works in Paris. In 2025, he presented his works at Galerie Thuillier in Paris and became an artist member of the Agency of Artists in Exile.

His artistic approach draws inspiration from ancestral African cultures and and how it’s tightly intertwined with nature. The artist questions spirituality in art, the relationship to the living world and the universe. He notably develops an important series of paintings dedicated to representations of the African woman, addressing, not without humor, their place in the world.
