biography
Born in Moscow, Russia, in 1993, Anna Soz is a visual artist, web designer and curator. She is a graduate of the BAZA Institute of Contemporary Art and co-founder of the NII Prichastnost and Talking Cure collectives. She explores the gaps between the material and the virtual, the transformation of the culture of representation of self and of others. Her installations, objects, graphics, photographs and videos explore the influence of technology and mass media. Her solo exhibitions include Witness and I Pray the Trees Will Get Their Leaves Soon at HEAR (Haute École des Arts du Rhin, where she is in residence in the framework of the PAUSE programme of the Collège de France) in 2023, Practical Independence at Skylight Gallery, Garage – Museum of Contemporary Art, Moscow in 2023 and The Garden of Hybrid Organism at NII Prichastnost, Moscow in 2021. She has also taken part in group shows including In Public Space No.9: The ninth wave, Teheran, Iran 2024, Vol. 1 now or ever, Talking Cure, Moscow 2022 and Green Corner at the ERRRING OFFICE residence, Moscow 2021. She moved to France in 2023, where she became a member of the Agency of artists in exile.
