biography

Born in 1993 in Parwan, Afghanistan, Anwar Rahimi is a photographer. He studied photography at the University of Fine Arts of Kabul. He was very interested in the traditions and rituals that constituted his daily life. He was mainly inspired by the civil war he lived during his childhood and the events of the September 11th, and showed how those conflicts changed and shaped rituals and performative gestures. His artworks were exhibited in Afghanistan, specially at the 8 Daily Gallery in Kabul, the Hidden Side Festival in Iran, the Qum, the Yad- e Gul-e Surkh, Mazar-e- sharif, the University of Kabul and the French institute of Kabul. He arrived in France in August 2021 and is a member of the agency of artists in exile.
