Born in 1991 in Johannesburg, South Africa, Zama Phakathi is a curator. She founded the Stop Sign Art Gallery. She has curated various exhibitions for Stop Sign Art Gallery as well as other organizations in South Africa.
In 2018, Phakathi curated for the Simon Nkoli Memorial Lecture, an exhibition based on the life of Simon Nkoli, an anti-apartheid, gay rights and AIDS activist in South Africa. The exhibition has since toured in South Africa.
