biography

Born in 1995 in Kharkov, Ukraine, Cleve Nitoumbi is a dancer and choreographer. At the age of 10, he started out in traditional Ukrainian dance, classical and contemporary, before discovering hip-hop, dancehall and street jazz. He gave performances, took part in competitions and festivals, and gave urban dance lessons. A victim of ethnic discrimination (his parents are of Congolese origin), he left Ukraine in 2017 for France. He danced for Thierry Thieû Niang (Va voir là-bas si j’y suis), Kevin Kimbengui (Non, je ne prendrais pas la Méditerranée) and acted in the show On comprend rien by Ariel Cypiel and Gaël Chaillat. Since 2019, he has been a choreographer and urban dance teacher, teaching at the Dance School in Biarritz, the MRG studio in Ivry-sur-Seine, Boogastyle Asso in Beaumont-sur-Oise and SWAG in Paris. He has performed at the Musée Delacroix, the Clignancourt Danse sur les rails festival in Paris and the Dynamo de Banlieues Bleues festival. He is a member of the Agency of Artists in Exile. He wrote the show Une partie de moi… une partie de toi.
