biography

Born in 1985 in Oran (Algeria), Nime is a cartoonist, caricaturist and sculptor. In 2007, he graduated from the Beaux-Arts (sculpture option) while collaborating in comics magazines such as Faynouk, or children’s stories that he illustrates. In 2009, he became a comic book columnist for the weekend supplement of the Algerian daily El Watan. He is welcomed in residence at the house of authors in Angoulême to develop the project Anecdotes on Algerian society and the life of a young Algerian cartoonist.

In 2013, he created Creature, a communication agency, while continuing his creations on his Blog “In my bubble” and on social networks. He accompanied the wave of protests in 2019, the “Hirak,” with a series of drawings against the Algerian regime that earned him arrest and imprisonment. He receives the prize “balls in the ass” at the festival of Angoulême 2020. He went into exile in France in 2021. He has been a member of l’Atelier des artistes en exil since 2022.
