Murad May

Born in 1984 in Gaza, Palestine, May Murad is a painter. In 2006, she graduated in fine arts at the Al-Aqsa University of Gaza. Apart from her artistic practice, she teaches arts and crafts to children, especially from the art therapy perspective. The residencies that she did at the Jalad Cultural Foundation in Amman, Jourdan, at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris and at the Foundation Dufraine of the fine arts Academy of Chars allowed her to develop her work. She participated in exhibitions in Palestine, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. She has settled in France since 2019 and is a member of the agency of artists in exile. In 2021, she is welcomed in residency at the ESAAA (École supérieure d’art annecy alpes) for the program “Pause” of Collège de France. She exhibited at the Pavillon Carré in Beaudouin for the “Vision d’exil” festival in 2020, at the MAC in Lyon and at the Cité internationale des arts.  She joined the geopolitical art and culture’s master at the Sorbonne Nouvelle.
