Born in 1972 in Kikwit in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Starlette Mathata is a theatre and film actress who trained at the Maloba theatre school in Kinshasa. Assistant director and coach to actors and dancers, she has worked as an actress with Ados Ndombasi, Jean Skaka and Atasha Kimbembi (Congo); Aristide Tarnagda (Burkina Faso); Johan Dehollander, Geert Opsomer and Shokri Bentchika (Belgium); Sebastien Nubling (Germany); Philippe Boulay (France). She has performed in both Congo, Cameroon, Benin, Belgium, Holland, Germany, France, Italy, Estonia, etc. She took part in three collective productions, a one-woman show and was twice nominated for Best Actress at the FIKIN festival in Kinshasa for her performance in the short film Awa by Deborah Basa in 2019 and 2021. She acts and gives workshops for children. In France since 2021, she is a member of the Agency of Artists in Exile.
