biography

Born in 1988 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Yannos Majestikos is a painter and a performer. He graduates from the interior architecture department of the Fine Arts Institute in Kinshasa, creates drawings and sculptures, founds the Sakana Na Art collective, does committed performances in public spaces since 2012 (Super Ekolo), and participates in exhibitions and films (Système K by Renaud Barret). Winner of the Visa for creation of the French Institute in 2018, and resident at the Cité Internationale des Arts, he chooses to stay in France and becomes member of the agency of artists in exile. He participates in the “Kinshasa chroniques” exhibition at the Musée international des arts modestes (MIAM) in Sète with his project Sapekologie Téléportation, which has been performed in Paris, Lille, Belgium and Spain. He creates the performance Tala Lelo at Subsistances in Lyon in 2019.
