Born in 1994 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Richard Lusakumunu, aka Lusak’s, is a painter, singer and filmmaker. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa, specializing in plastic arts. He participated in several exhibitions in Kinshasa where he supervised a group of young artists in the exhibition The Returns on the Political Situation of the Congo. He left his country in 2017 to move to Greece. In 2018, he created the artist collective Mazi with which he realized several exhibitions at the French Institute of Thessaloniki, where political issues remain central. In 2021, he arrived in France and became a member of l’Atelier des artistes en exil.
