Born in 1987 in Damascus, Syria. Karam Al Zouhir is a musician and composer who plays violin, alto and keyboard. He graduated in musical education from Homs University (Syria). In 2011, he arrived to France and followed studies of musicology at the University of Strasbourg. In 2015, he was the artistic director of “Sacrées Journées” of Strasbourg. He also serves as the co-founder of the “Syrian Expat Philharmonic Orchestra” (SEPO) and is an active member of the “Damascus String Quintet (DSQ). He also founded the jazz duo “Monkey Mind” with bassist Joris Coimbra. He teaches music in a secondary school and is involved in the “Demos” project. He is a member of the agency of artists in exile.
