biography

Born in 1980 in Damascus, Palestinian, and originally from Syria, Homam Haddad is a writer. A graduate in sociology from the University of Damascus, he is a journalist at the Center for Media and Freedom of Expression and for Baladna magazine. Political prisoner from 2005 to 2007, in 2011 he joined the Local Coordinating Committee of the opposition and the peaceful revolution in Damascus and, in 2012, he joined the Syrian National Council. He works for Euro Med Rights in Turkey. In France since 2012, he studied sociology at EHESS and develops writing projects.
