biography
Born in 1997 in Takhar in northern Afghanistan, Maryam Ferdous is a ceramist and mosaicist. She trained in ceramics and mosaics at the Institute of Afghan Arts and Architecture before studying computer science in Bucharest, Romania. She is the first Afghan woman to graduate in ceramics. Between 2016 and 2018, she participated in exhibitions in Kabul, at the Serena Hotel, the U.S. Embassy, the Turquoise Moutain Foundation exhibitions as well as the Babur Garden. She arrived in France in 2021 and has been a member of l’Atelier des artistes en exil since.
