Born in 1987 in Yakutsk, Russia, Beata Bubenec is a writer and director. A graduate of the School of Cinema and Documentary Theater in Moscow, she began her career as a director in 2013. She has made several documentaries on current events in Russia and the former USSR. She takes part in several international festivals such as the Brisbane International Film Festival (Australia), Artdocfest (Russia), DocuDays UA (Ukraine), Documentary Film Festival in New York, etc.
In 2015 she directed the documentary series “La roulette russe”. In 2020 she produced the theatrical show “The Shaman’s Tale.” In 2022 she moved to Paris and became a member of the Artists in Exile Workshop.
