biography

Born in 1991 in Ghazni, Afghanistan, Aziz Azizyar is a photographer. He studied at the University of Fine Arts in Kabul from 2011 to 2015. After the attacks of the 11th of September, Afghanistan has been a place of reference for photojournalism, a photographic genre which has a narrative role in conflict zones through reports and documentaries. Inspired by this context of conflicts, Azizyar uses photography to question dynamics of our perceptions of the daily life. His artworks have been exhibited in a national and international scale; in Babur Garden, Queen’s Palace, in Kabul, at the Loyalist Collage, in Belleville, in Canada and Iran among others. He has been a member of the agency of artists in exile since 2021.
