    • biography

    Born in 1989 in Ust-Chernaya, Perm region, Russia, Aleksey Shchigalevest graduated from the Ural University of Metallurgical Equipment and the Bakstein Institute of Contemporary Art in Moscow. A visual artist and video maker, he combines painting with graphic techniques derived from his engineering background. His work on the memory of places is based on research into personal or “found” archives and technical documents (maps and drawings). Arriving in France in 2023, he is a member of l’atelier des artistes en exil.
