biography

Born in 1984 near Al Fasher, Sudan, Ibrahim came from a marginalized minority ethnic group in Darfur. He had to prematurely end his studies in architecture at the University of Sudan in order to find stable employment to support himself. He left his country of origin for better opportunities abroad. While in Dubai and Addis Ababa, he started his career as an assistant at an architectural firm and later as a supervisor on construction sites before returning briefly to Sudan. Ultimately he could not stay in his home country and went to Libya to practice interior design. In 2014, he arrived in Calais, France and matriculated into the “foreign student program” at ENSAD. He has exhibited in showcases of the Ministry of Culture at the Royal Palace. He is a member of the agency of artists in exile.
