workshop of portraits on textile and embroidery led by the Argentine artist Zina Katz
During the workshop participants will learn how to draw portraits and postpone them on textiles and then embroider them. The aim is to create together a collective work that will be presented to the public in November at the upcoming Visions d’exil festival, organized by the artists’ workshop in exile.
Zina Katz is an artist born in Argentina. Her work reflects the exile and migration of her personal history: her family was expelled from Europe in the 20th century and emigrated to Argentina. She artistically transposes photographs of passports on textile. Embroidery becomes subjective and highlights the human aspect.
