Atelier de théâtre “Fais-moi rire, si tu peux !”
102 rue des Poissonniers, 75018 Paris
What can make a dramatic situation funny? How to look differently at this situation to create laughter? How does laughter then return our perception of this situation?
The workshop will explore these questions through the following processes:
From the stories of the participants (real or imaginary), we will try to extract comic situations. We discovered these situations from the point of view of each protagonist to breakdown all the dramatic possibilities. Through an exercises of improvisation and accentuating the gaps, we will extend the situations towards absurdity.
Ariel and Gaël will then accompany the participants to written versions of these improvisations to stabilize a final version at the end of the workshop.
Ariel Cypel, artistic director and director, and Gaël Chaillat, actor and director, have been collaborating for more than 10 years. They meet for the project Témoins voyageurs travelers witnesses initiated by Ariel Cypel. The project featured stories of refugees traveling from their countries to France.
In 2008, they wrote MurMure, a comedy about Palestinian political prisoners based on telephone conversations between a Palestinian prisoner and an Israeli journalist. In 2014, they finished Le mouton, a contemporary vaudeville that takes place between Bagdad, Shanghai and Bobigny, whose main character, Mohamed, son of a sheeps merchant, is carried away in a true-false terrorist scheme.
