biography

Born in 1989, Aïda Salander is a Tunisian DJ. She studies French Literature at the University of Manouba in Tunis, and then she does cultural studies at the University Jean Monnet in St-Étienne. On November 2019, she joins the collective ISOLA sound and plays in the festival Avides Tempêtes, which represents the start of her career in France. She proposes sets that are emotionally connected and interactive with the public: house, disco, techno … all of it tainted by her North African origins. She is currently in an artistic residency in L’ŒIL and Radio Flouka (Tunisian radio based in Paris). She also organises the event Queer of the Bled, a monthly meeting around music and oriental performances. She is a member of the agency of artists in exile.
