biography

Born in Nagrahar, Afghanistan, in 1992, Abdul Saboor worked as a NATO interpreter for 6 years. Wanted by the Taliban, he was forced to flee his country. Always equipped with a camera, he immortalized the journey of his exile, from the two years he spent crossing Europe to France, where he decided to stop in 2017. His photographs have been exhibited in Serbia, Spain, England, Poland and France in the windows of the French Ministry of Culture, the Cité des Mots, the Friche Belle de Mai in Marseille, the Théâtre Sénart, the CCAM – scène nationale de Vandœuvres-lès-Nancy, and the Transfo, the Emmaüs Solidarité cultural space. He has been a member of l’atelier des artistes en exil since 2018. Since September 2021, he has been in residence at the Institut supérieur des arts de Toulouse as part of the Collège de France’s Pause program.
